I have today sent donations totalling £565 to Myeloma UK. This was money donated by friends out of love and respect for Alan James Day, my Dad who died on 4 September 2016.
My Dad died of old age 10 days short of his 93rd birthday. Mum chose the charity in memory of Colin who sadly didn't have such a long innings.
Colin always used to tell Dad 'sorry Al, you won't make the team this week, I'll have to put you on the bench'. I like to think that they're both watching over us now from the sidelines.
Love and miss you xx
Colin Phillips (22 Apr 1948 - 30 Aug 2015)
In memory of my lovely husband Colin Phillips who sadly passed away on 30th August 2015.
Colin was known for his love of a good 'debate'. He liked to share his opinions on many and varied topics.
He was fiercely loyal - if he counted you as a friend, he would not let you down.
Colin loved sport and was a keen cricketer and footballer in his younger days. Later on, golf became a big part of his life. He also loved watching almost any sport but especially Rugby Union.
I will continue to follow all of your teams for you Colin.
He was definitely a glass half full kind of man with a great sense of fun. He kept his sense of humour through some tough times. Even when illness started to affect Colin, he remained positive and determined. We really made the most of our time doing the things we enjoyed.
I could not have asked for a more kind and generous partner in life. We had some adventures and lots of love and laughter.
I feel lucky to have shared many wonderful years with you Colin and will treasure the memories.
Love always,
Stella - your soulmate.
