In loving memory of Jean Loy who sadly passed away on 20th April 2022
Most beloved Mother of Shamus, Lulu and Chris and Grandma Of Dawn, Dion and Tara
The centre of our world, With a nature as gentle and beautiful as the flowers she loved,
Who looked at the world like her life, an open door !….. where all were welcome every waif and stray with two feet or four would be fed , warmed and loved with a gentle and silly sense of humour

"Beloved Granma, beautiful friend
Your love is a treasure without end
Still the time has come for you to dance along your way
And though I would always like to have an extra day
To ask and tell all the things we never got to say
I’d rather celebrate your life than wish that you could stay
For that life and love you gave is why I’m here today
And when I close my eyes and memories of you are here
Even the smallest of them are treasures I hold dear
The twinkles of your eyes
The crinkles of your smiles
Fleece night gowns and warm butter toast
Your sherry trifle I loved the most
Piles of buttons and copper coins
China dolls and knitted toys
Your green fingers making beds for flowers
Knitting bears for hours and hours
Clip clop heals through the markets and streets
Letters and cards and parcels and treats
Sherry and cherries, mint sauce and mushy peas
A rocking donkey by the Christmas tree
Cheese cobs and fizzing pop
Treasure to find in porcelain pots
Pickled onions you made yourself
Trinkets of brass on wooden shelves
Toilet roll dolls with knitted gowns
Teddies you recued when their luck was down
Cats that never lived there but always did
With my uncle Chris whose name is Sid
Paper packets full of seeds
Your beautiful writing that I love to read
Your chuckle and your knowing wink
A jungle of basil above your sink
Your warm bed at the days end
Reading stories from Peoples Friend
And how you smiled and your eyes glazed
When you talked about your dancing days
Yet all these are but snippets, scattered across a page
For how can any words be able to portray
You at the heart of our family and just how much you gave
The hardships and what you gave up so that we could be ok
So travel safe beloved one and dance with the joy of youth
You helped so many lives and that is a simple truth
Flowers bloomed in your garden with your constant care
So may your care grow like those seeds and flower everywhere
For Like my wise Poppa said about you dear
You are inside all we do so are always here
When we dance, we’ll be dancing with you
And when we paint, your love of art will be shining through
So twinkle, twinkle little Granma
Here is where you always are"

Dear grandma, I am happy that you are free and dancing on the wind but sad that you are no longer here to give me that cheeky wink and giggle. You always gave with such a kind heart and I'll miss you. All my love Dion
