Peter George Samuel "Pete" Heathcote (13 Nov 1932 - 17 Apr 2022)

Good coach, sadly missed, memories at Alleyn Court Prep School.

I’m unable to attend the funeral, though felt compelled to write a message.
Pete was my football coach when I went to Allen Court school in Westcliff about 30yrs ago.
Pete was an inspiration. My experience of him was that he was so encouraging and so full of life. I can hear him singing the lyrics to ‘you’re 16’ - https://youtu.be/yaS5vObzDMQ.
I let Pete again around 10 years later when playing for Southend Manor Under 18 and wished I would have told him the impact that he had on me. He believed in my potential (and my left peg as he used to call my left foot when playing football). Nothing came compare to someone showing that they believe in you. For that I will always be grateful, Pete. Rest in peace. Aron Barnes
