In loving memory of Angie Bagley who sadly passed away on 14th April 2022
On Thursday 14th April Sam and I were forced to say goodbye to the most beautiful, caring, compassionate and kind person in the world.
This will come as a complete shock to the majority, as Ang wanted to keep this private….”It was just her way of dealing with it”. She was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer after finding a lump in her breast on 10th April ‘21. This type of cancer is particularly aggressive and the only treatment is to have surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
She underwent 2 lumpectomies, one in May, followed by another in June to ensure the cancer had been removed. She then started her course of chemotherapy in August which continued on until just before Christmas. This was followed by 2 weeks of radiotherapy in the first two weeks of Jan’22. She endured the treatment extremely well physically, but was always fearful of the threat of re-occurrence / secondary cancer issues.
On Tues 5th April she had her first post treatment physical examination, during which she felt tenderness in her abdomen. Following a further appointment on the Thursday, she was admitted to hospital to speed up the scans which had been ordered earlier in the week. On Tuesday 12th we were told that Ang’s overriding fear had materialised after being told the scan results, and that the cancer had returned in her liver. The damage was such that no more chemotherapy could be offered and we were told there was nothing else that could be done.
She was admitted to the Nightingale Macmillan Unit at the Royal Derby, where here condition deteriorated so rapidly that she sadly passed away at 11.05pm on Thursday 14th.
We are completely devastated and utterly heartbroken at the loss of the most perfect wife and mother. Our world has simply imploded and the life and light has been sucked out of it, leaving a void that can never be filled. Our rock, the centre of our lives has been completely ripped from us by the evil of cancer.
So we say rest in peace to my soulmate, and the love of my life. Sam has to say goodbye to the most influential, caring and supportive mum who has shaped his life to become the outstanding young man we are rightly so proud of. Ang was simply the centre of our lives and our love for her will live on forever ❤ .
I’d like to thank the family and friends who were told of Ang’s diagnosis, for their help, kindness and support during the most difficult year you could imagine.
