Yvonne Ball was born at Walnut Tree farm in Rattlesden. She was baptized at Rattlesden Baptist Church as a teenager. From that time forward, her main focus in life was on serving her Saviour.
Yvonne loved music and recognized that her beautiful soprano voice was a God-given gift. She had a solo ministry, as well as singing in various choirs, and as a family group when Julia and Paul were young. She was also an able church organist.
After marrying Owen in 1963, they moved to Tattingstone, and helped to run the fellowship at Bentley Tabernacle. Together they did Sunday School and youth work. Yvonne took speaking engagements at womens' meetings, including Women Aglow, and lead ladies' home Bible study groups. She was always committed to visiting the elderly and those in need of spititual encouragement. She and Owen had a heart for world mission, and supported the work of World Outreach, AIM, SGA, and others, getting to know many missionaries personally when they stayed in our home during deputation work. Yvonne had great satisfaction in marking simple English Bible correspondence courses for WEC, for many years, and later, in being an area collector for Link Romania's Christmas Shoebox Appeal.
No matter where she worshipped, Yvonne always had a burden to pray for the nation as well as local church work. She joined Issachar prayer groups with Prophetic Word Ministries. She attended and then lead Ipswich Intercessors for Britain. Later in life, after developing a greater understanding of God's purposes for Israel, Yvonne was involved in the establishment of a monthly Hephzibah meeting at Belstead, and also lead a Prayer for Israel group until she was physically and emotionally unable to continue.
