In loving memory of Marion Fitness who sadly passed away on 18th March 2022
I met Marion in 1983 in The George P.H. in Meopham, Kent. I always remember what attractive eyes she had and always did have.
We spent much of the early years travelling up and down to Scotland but Marion eventually settled back in Kent at Joyce Green Hospital as an SEN.
In 1985 we were married at Dalserf Church in Lanarkshire and settled down in Chatham, Kent. Ben came along in 1987. Shortly afterwards and due mainly to the economic crisis, Norman Tebbit had said "get on your bike if you can't find work," we moved to Scotland. Marion worked in various nursing homes including Orchard House which was in the village of Crossford where we lived. After 5 years we moved back to Kent and
lived in Vigo. There we stayed for the next 29 years. During this time Marion worked at The Gables, Wrotham, also Priory Court, West Kingsdown and as a Community Nurse working from Rochester Road in Gravesend.
Covering mainly Gravesham Borough but sometimes was in Dartford and Sevenoaks Boroughs as well. She did her Conversion course to SRN and qulified as such in 2001 from York University.
Marion had always had a hankering to visit Russia and in 2008 we had one of the best holidays ever. Visiting St.Petersburg, Vladimir, Suzdal and Tallin. However, our highlight will always be walking into Red Square, Moscow at night and being photographed under St. Basil's Cathedral.
She loved her family and when Emma and Ben had Bailey this was Marion at her best. Helping Bailey with his reading and writing . They both shared a love of gardening which was great to watch.
I will miss her and love her forever. However, she went out of this World on her own terms and with that in mind, I respect her.
Love, Duncan x
