In loving memory of Jeremy Paul Shallis who sadly passed away on 13th March 2022.
Husband of Olwen father to Fi and James and Grandpa to Jacob. Jeremy died peacefully at home with his family present.
Born in Leigh on Sea he attended West Leigh Infant and Junior Schools and Westcliff High School for Boys, followed by Queen Mary College, University of London, where he met Olwen.
Jeremy had a career in software development and project management, firstly in the publishing sector then in financial services.
Outside work he was a busy active man who loved life, he enjoyed skiing, cycling, motorbikes, science fiction and good food and wine. He held a private pilot’s licence for many years and was a qualified pyrotechnician and used both these skills to raise money for charity through auctioning flights and putting on firework displays. In recent years he was Treasurer for the Parish of St Andrew’s and St Peter’s in South Shoebury
Through sheer determination he outlived the prognosis given when he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour in October 2020 and got his wish to celebrate his 60th birthday.
A much loved man who will be greatly missed.
