Natasha’s Memories of Mum
Mum, the day you left, my world was shaken
From our lives you were cruelly, prematurely taken
But I know you are now free from all afflictions
No more discomfort, pain and restrictions
We each hold dear the memories we made
Forever holding them in our hearts, never to fade
Mum. You were the go-to with good news and bad
When I had problems, when ill or just sad
You taught me to do many things like bake, knit and sew
Some things were easy, but others were a struggle to undergo
We will always remember your chocolate birthday cake
For many of us, this you did bake
Your love of dogs was clear to see
We remember Tiggy, Sam, Flag your dear Kep and Brandy
You were an avid gardener, which is where you could be found
We remember often picking up fruit from the ground
I pranced around in your heels when I was small
Feeling grown up, looking down, feeling tall
Even when there was a dishwasher, you made us laugh when you washed up
You weren’t scared of hard work, washing every last cup
One year at Centre Parcs when Courtney was small
Your hair and make-up she did, making you so beautiful
All these fond memories are but a few
We treasure them lovingly, as we treasured you
Mum you were special, we were blessed to have the life we did with you
May you now be free from struggle and at peace too
