Mum Cook wrote

My dear daughter
When I brought you into this world it wasn’t supposed to be a race to see who would leave it first. You beat me to it and left a huge hurt in my heart.
I can’t tell you about what’s happening here in NZ anymore or about how I watched your funeral with tears pouring down my face. As your granddad Cook would have said ‘they done you proud’.
I so much wanted to be with you these past two years, bloody Covid!
As Thomas would say, I love you to the moon and back, mum xxooxx

In loving memory of dear Maria - beautiful, bright, fun-loving, adventurous and cake-maker par excellence. 1st April certainly lived up to it's reputation - snow, gridlocked roads and a cross-country tour through narrow lanes to Hawkinge! Maria would have found that so amusing. So many people gathered to remember her with great love and fond memories only to prove how much she will be missed. She would have been so very proud of Paul and Thomas who will miss her most but she will never be far and always in their minds and hearts. Sleep gently, Maria, your brave battle is done, rest now in peace. XXXXX GAJ

Maria! I will always remember the day that we had our takeaway coffee on the Leas back in October last year and the long chat we had about everything good and bad. Next coffee was going to be on me. I owe you one. You touched my heart. I will never forget you. Rest in peace.

Did you do this? You said it would be a stormy, wild day! You loved snow though, so maybe it is apt? God bless you my love.
