CHRISTINE
On 1st March 2022, at Manor Croft Nursing Home in Dewsbury, aged 90. Christine, beloved daughter of the late Arthur & Marion Withers, sister to Patricia, dear aunt to Martin, and friend to many in the UK and abroad. She was a dedicated Soroptimist, a local magistrate, accomplished golfer and worked for Kirklees as its principal catering officer for many years.
The funeral service will be held at St Paul’s Parish Church, Hanging Heaton on Tuesday 29th March 2022 at 11.30am followed by a private committal at Dewsbury Moor Crematorium. The dress code is (as Christine was) bright and colourful! Flowers are very welcome, and donations in memory of Christine may be given at the service or sent to George Brooke Ltd., Funeral Directors of Dewsbury for the benefit of RNLI (Scarborough), The British Heart Foundation and Yorkshire Cancer Research.

Chris was someone who was very dear to our family and it is sad to hear she is no longer with us. We so enjoyed visiting her and she always loved showing us around her beloved Yorkshire. We were always so happy to see her when she came to Australia. We miss her in our lives.

Christine always looked back fondly on her visits down under and - I think - always harboured a desire to go one last time which, sadly, was not to be She enjoyed taking you to her spiritual home of the Yorkshire Dales, which is where she requested her ashes to be scattered.
