Brian Cyril Wood (28 Jan 1932 - 28 Feb 2022)

In loving memory of Brian Cyril Wood who sadly passed away on 28th February 2022.Brian was a much loved Brother, Dad, Granddad and Great Granddad who will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.

Brian was born in Nottingham in 1932 to Hannah and Cyril Wood and lived on Kings Meadow Road throughout the 2nd World War. At the age of 14 he started his apprenticeship at FW Atkinsons as a sheet metal frabricator. After becoming the works manager for Atkinsons he retired at the age of 63 having worked at the same company for 49 years.

In 1956 he married Ada Diana Moore were they set up home in Ruddington on Brookside Road. In 1960 Antony his first son was born, followed in 1964 by Adrian.

Brian was an avid follower of football and a great supporter of Notts County going to most home matches for many years.

In later life he became an active member of St Peters Church and for a few years was a church warden and could be seen during the summer racing around the church grounds on the motorised lawnmower.
