In loving memory of Geoffrey Arthur Lang

Geoff passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on 17th February 2022 aged 78 years.

Dearly beloved husband of Elaine and devoted dad to Doug, Victoria and Kate. Loved by his brothers, sister and grandchildren and a friend to many. He will be sadly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

I first met Geoff In 1977 when I moved from my home base in Huddersfield to my first management role in Chesterfield GA. Geoff was most welcoming and gave me valuable advice accompanied with his disarming sense of humour and relaxed approach to life. Though we both moved on to new roles in life we kept in touch throughout. It was a joy to be in his company and he will be very much missed.
Our thoughts are with Elaine and family.

I will always remember Geoff's cheerfulness, especially when coming into the office. I will miss him, although I didn't see him often. My sympathies to Elaine, Doug, Eleanor and the rest of his family.

I met Geoff when I moved down to Nottingham having transferred from General Accident's HQ in Perth back in 1995. Geoff truly was one of life’s Gents and gave me one of the warmest welcomes when I first started at the Nottingham Branch.

Always the life and soul of the party, always pleased to see you, whether in the office or outside socially, which included our memorable informal football kick abouts at Carlton Forum.

I was lucky enough to keep up with him, amongst others, for a while after we had both left GA/Aviva at the Monthly Lunch gatherings of the ex-GA over 50's at The Salutation Inn on the first Thursday of the month catching up with each other over a pint and a bite to eat and inevitably some of Geoff's latest jokes. It was impossible not to smile in his presence or even now in sharing memories.
