In loving memory of Joan Mary Scothern 08-10.1921 to 30-01-2022

Born over a century ago, when we had a king and Britain had an
empire, Joan lived through times both interesting and turbulent.
The Wall Street Crash, the abdication of Edward VIII, the second
world War, the beginning of the nuclear age, the coronation of
Elizabeth II and men landing on the moon, she bore witness to
these and much more during her long life.
Joan was the beloved wife of Euan for almost 70 years and proud
mother of Mark, Jeremy and Joanna.
Loving and caring she was in many ways the power behind the
throne, supporting Euan and her children ably as they built their
lives.
She also took delight in her grandchildren and in turn their
children - her great grandchildren - embracing them all with equal
love.
She enjoyed the company of others and had a flare for making
loyal friends.
She could wring happiness out of every day irrespective of
changes in circumstances or fortune.
Joan was in many ways a one-off, it would be fair to say that
everyone who met her will miss her.
