In loving memory of Ronald Buckman "Ron" who sadly passed away on 27th January 2022

Dad was loved by all who knew him, his smile and laughter can never be forgotten.
Our lives will never be the same but it is a relief that Dad is no longer in pain.

Dad was a keen bowler and was happiest when at the bowling green, especially when the “ Buckman Brothers” had their team of 4 and believed they were invincible!

Dad always enjoyed family meals out and loved having us around for a Sunday roast that he never cooked but always liked to tell mum how to do it !

Our childhood was the best ever, Mum and Dad always scrimped and saved to make sure we had a family holiday every year, we still reminisce about the time Dad was supposed to meet us at the clock tower in Weymouth after he had put his bet on the horses; 3 hours later we found him at a random statue of a lion; he insisted that it was us that had gone to the wrong place ha ha ha , I very kindly sent him a picture of the clock tower a year or two ago, he laughed and said that it was still the wrong place and he was still right !

Our Dad became the best grandad to Marnie and James, he loved teasing them and always made them feel so loved; although he did fall asleep once and then have to run all the way to pick up Marnie from play school!

We hope as many of you as possible who knew our Dad will be able to give him the send off he deserves.

Goodnight Dad, we love you to the moon and back, you will be remembered every day.

Lynne Russell kindly donated this money. She has been a kind neighbour and friend to dad over the years and is helping mum through this very tough time.

Ron was the most kindest caring neighbour anyone could ever ask for. We have many memories of long chats out the front, Ron shaking his stick at dom saying “you trying to make it rain” everytime he washed his car. The funniest memory was definitely the look on Ron’s face when our dog ran in their house and Ron realising his budgie was out. Dom flew in the house and grabbed Buddy just in time, there was bird seed everywhere! He will be missed terribly, but we feel honoured to have been a part of Ron’s life. Xx

I always remember Uncle Ron's laugh and how he was always laughing with his brothers,my mum and all the family at the times we met up.
I also remember as my brother does, him smoking a pipe when we were younger and as he said that distinctive smell, but as I said previously I will remember his great laugh.
He was always happy and laughing and making us all laugh as well so I will remember this image of him in my mind. What a lovely image to remember someone.
My thoughts are with everyone at this time and take care.
Love Carolyn

It's difficult to single out one memory of Uncle Ron in particular as every memory I have of him is him laughing loudly in great spirits making all around him laugh with him. Although it's been a while since I saw him smoke a pipe after he gave it up, to this day I always associate the smell of tobacco pipe with him and think of him whenever I smell one and hear his distinctive laugh! Many happy memories of Uncle Ron at various family events and visits at christmas time over the years. Will be sadly missed and the next family do won't be quite the same without him.

I have fond memories of lots of Boxing Days and New Year’s Day evenings spent together with Uncle Ron, Auntie Sue, Julia and Daniel. They were always filled with lots of loud laughter and jokes, funny stories, card games, food and a couple of drinks! Happy happy times.
Rest in peace Uncle Ron xx

I remember Uncle Ron telling funny stories about his brothers, like when his brother had a watch with only one hand! So it was no wonder why he was late. Remember him joking and laughing with the family. Glad he is no longer in pain.

RON Brother of Ken,Brother in law of Marian, uncle, great uncle
Will be sadly missed by all
So many good times, laughs, and fond memories of you at family gatherings
parties,Holidays, evenings at the casino and Cruises one of which was for
your 50th wedding anniversary, laughing as we tried to avoid the stick you
were waving about.
We had football season tickets for the family centre at the Dell for us and the boys Daniel and Ian trying to keep upwind of your Pipe,
The trophies we won in the Crib league at the Rising Sun Botany Bay,
Not forgetting enjoying over 25yrs Bowling at Mayfield first as pair
then joined by Bill and Bert to form the "Buckman Four", a few raised eyebrows sometimes at the noise, usually you laughing or us heckling you
but we would laugh it off and blame Bill who was the Quiet One.
Happy Days
Will miss you "Laughing Boy" God Bless

When I think of Uncle Ron, there are a few things that spring to mind.
The first was his laugh, and what a laugh! It could fill a room and lift you at any time. Second think was his wit I (and everyone else) always dreaded making a speech when he was around, as no matter how funny you were, you could never come up with something as funny as he could, he was the ultimate heckler. Third was the boxing day celebrations with him and the family, the trip to the pub and return for dinner and the inevitable race to fall asleep between Uncle Ron and Dad which we always took great pleasure in trying to photograph. and finally, was his pipe, to this day football isn’t the same without the waft of his pipe coming across to you. Time with Uncle Ron was always good and will be something that I will miss, but glad he is no longer in pain sleep well Uncle Ron.

Rest in peace Ron. At last I get to have the last word after trying for years. At least I shan`t pick up the the wrong bowls bag having one of the same design. Only thing was the woods in my bag didn`t run as true as those in yours!

Ron will be greatly missed by all the members of Mayfield Bowling Club. There was never a dull moment when he was around as he had a brilliant sense of humour which could always lift one’s spirits. His forte was the Friday evening roll up. He was proud of the fact that he played with the same set of bowls throughout his playing days. God bless, Rest in peace.
