GLASGOW - Leslie Millar, 59, of Glasgow and formerly Edinburgh, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, at Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
Leslie was born in 1962, in Edinburgh, to the late Gordon and Margaret Marjorie (Madge) Millar.
At various stages he worked for Remploy and it’s predecessor.
He loved aviation, avidly reading airplane magazines and collecting model aircraft. He also loved model buses.
He loved spending time with his friends at Hayfield Deaf Centre and with his neighbours in Fielden Street Glasgow. He also loved his holiday breaks at his caravan in Craig Tara, Ayr with his friends, carers and Patrick the therapy dog.
He is survived by his brothers Gary (and his husband Steve) and Norman (and his wife Lorna), his nephews William and Derek, his niece Lisa and his Auntie’s (Ina Millar, Margaret Baxter, Jean and Sandra Taylor), Uncles (Allan Millar and William Taylor) and many cousins.
Leslie’s cremation will be held Monday, Feb. 28, 2022, at 11am, at Daldowie Crematorium (East Chapel) in Glasgow.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made as a thank you to Hayfield Support Services with Deaf People, 260 Moffat Street, Glasgow, G5 0ND, or via this site to the charity “Aerobility” - who change lives by providing anyone with any disability access to aviation. They do this because it drives a focus on capabilities and it encourages the student to ask ‘if I can fly an aeroplane, what else can I do?’ Please help us send anyone with a disability skywards in memory of our superhero.
Arrangements are in the care of Anderson Maguire Funeral Directors at Alexandra Parade, 15-17 Hamilton Square, Glasgow, G42 0PL.
RIP our beautiful baby brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Fly high xxx
