In loving memory of William (Bill) Bartke who sadly passed away on 25th January 2022

James Herbison wrote

I worked with Bill at SRC in Fordneuk St in Bridgeton. I was just a young boy and Bill always seemed to have a wonder knowledge of music and the arts. A wonderfully pleasant man who always had a nice word to say about everyone. I lost touch when I left Strathclyde Regional Council and made my way to WOSWA. Bill left a positive impression on me and whilst we didn't always agree on everything he was a true gentleman.

Didn’t know that Bill had passed away.I knew that he had lost a lot of weight through Lyme disease.I noticed that his landline was disconnected.I checked the website called’ Scotland’s People’ where you can put a name into a search engine and find if they have passed on.Found out through the website. Will miss him as he was a real character. All the best to family.Best Wishes, Eddie.

It has an honour to have known Bill, we had many a get together in the Shawlands pubs for a and a pint ( or three) way back in the day. A wonderful celebration of his life. Great to see so many faces from our past. Glad I met up with him recently. RIP.
