Malcolm was born in Dover, a week after the start of world war two and soon lost his beloved father in 1945 on the HMTS Alert. He had a childhood in a difficult time but was dearly loved by his mum Ruby. He went to Barton Road School and started work at the Dover Chairworks when he was 15 years old.
A year later he met his future wife Sheila and they were married in 1962.
Malcolm later worked at Buckland paper mill for 30 years until he took early retirement at 59 years old, just before the mill was closed. For many years, until he was about 80 years old, Malcolm also worked part time cleaning windows, a job he loved because of the lovely people he got to know over the years.
He was first and foremost a family man and is sorely missed by his loving family.
