Brian Reaney (14 Feb 1964 - 20 Jan 2022)
Funeral Director
Brian George Reaney, beloved and adored husband, father, brother, uncle and son, left a massive hole in the world when he very sadly passed away suddenly on 20 January, 2022.
Born in Omagh, County Tyrone in Northern Ireland, Brian never forgot his Irish roots after moving with his family to England after his father died when Brian was just five years old. He grew up in Salisbury, and spent most of his life living in Wiltshire after leaving Ireland.
He had only one child, a beautiful daughter, Elizabeth, whom he absolutely adored. She was, from the moment she was born, the light of his life.
When he was 49, he met and married the love of his life, Lisa, with whom he spent the remainder of his days, bringing profound joy into her life. He was her soulmate, as she was his, and their deep love for each other was obvious to all who met them.
Brian's incredible sense of humour, quit wit and love of life, were a constant source of joy to those who loved him. He had a way of making everyone he met feel special and was able to remember details about people he had not seen in years. He found ways to make even the most serious person laugh - making people laugh was one of the things he enjoyed the most.
Brian felt passionate about battling homelessness, inequality and social injustice. He was a dedicated Labour supporter, and enjoyed few things more than a good political debate. He loved to travel and visited many countries before his health deteriorated. He was a talented amateur photographer. He loved current events, and enjoyed streaming both television and films with his wife. He was a staunch Southampton Saints supporter throughout his life, and watched Formula 1 religiously. One of his greatest loves was food, and he loved trying culinary delights from all over the world.
Brian leaves behind his wife Lisa Reaney; daughter Elizabeth Reaney; sister and brother in law Joan and Colin Warden; brothers Andrew Reaney and David Reaney; niece Laura Warden and her daughter Nicole; nephew Ian Warden, his wife Krissy and their two children Ryan and Megan; nephew Matthew Warden and fiancé Helena Judd; nephews Paul and Allan Reaney; nephew Liam Reaney and niece Emma Reaney. He also leaves behind his beloved cats Jelly Bean and Missy in whom he found great joy. Brian was predeceased by his mother Phyllis Reaney and father William Reaney.
As per his wishes, there will be a very small, private family cremation and a celebration of his life in August of this year.
