In loving memory of Shirley Pilcher who sadly passed away peacefully on 17th January 2022 aged 88 years.
Mum's death came as a welcome release from several years of suffering from dementia. We will hold memories of her as a vibrant, intelligent mum and grandmother. She was known as 'Hi Tech Granny' to her grandchildren due to her thurst for the latest technology. An old work colleague remarked recently how she remembered Shirley taking up computer progamming before any of her piers had even considered them to be 'the future'. Mum was a keen pianist and played the church organ wherever she and dad were posted during his RAF days. She continued to play, using the very latest key board, until arthritis in her hands prevented her from doing so. Mum was a keen sportswoman playing tennis, latterly short tennis , bowls and table tennis. She also loved to tap dance and returned to ballroom dancing in her late 70's.

Mum, we will miss you.
