Mike was born on the 2nd October 1972 at home in Southend-on-Sea. The Edwards family moved from Southend to Benfleet when Mike was two. If you asked him what he wanted to do for a job he would say 'I want to be a fighter pilot in the morning and a comedian and magician at lunchtime and a fireman in the evening' He went to Montgomerie school, then King John & Appleton Senior schools then SEEVIC. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when he was 19 years old. This stopped his ambition to go into the RAF as a pilot! He had to rethink his choice of career - This did not phase him, he became a Money Broker and never looked back! He kept in touch with many of his school friends and made many more friends from all around the world throughout his journey of life. Mike was diagnosed with leukaemia 8 years ago - He never complained! He lit up a room when he entered! He was always the joker. He was so proud of his lovely daughter Alice. Mike loved life and definitely lived it to the full!

Please note, Mike would be happy for you to wear whatever you feel comfortable in at the Funeral, you do not have to wear black!

Watched online. Mike was someone I knew from senior school and ATC. I always had a huge crush on him and he and I used to do community service at school together at a local playgroup. Mike at 15 years old had such a light in him and the children adored him. He used to take me to the local chippy where he worked and get me free chips. He was in the cool gang at school and I defo was not but he was never embarrassed to be seen with me and was always a really really lovely guy. I have great memories of Mike from air cadets mainly of him getting cheeky with the officers but that twinkle in his eye always managed to get him out of trouble. Mike will always be one of my best memories of school and he will be forever remembered by everyone who’s lives he touched. Rest easy Mike Edwards xxxx
