In loving memory of Patricia Margaret Harrild who sadly passed away on 29th December 2021
Born to Rose and Charles George in South Harrow along with with her Twin sister Diane, joining the family with an older sister June. Moved to Harlesden North London where she went to school. June left for Australia with her then husband and children. Pat and Diane stayed with Mum and Dad, both going to work at Liberty of London for the accounts department during the mid 1950s. At 17 she met Philip at a party at a friends house in Wembley and had been together ever since.
They were married in 1963, with Pat giving birth to their daughter Jacqueline in 1966 and Kevin their son in 1970. The family moved to Gillingham from North Acton in 1975 for 16 years before moving to the Isle of Sheppey in 1991.
Pat stayed at home with the kids until Kevin had gone to grammar school in the early 80's. She restarted at work alongside Phil as a partner in Interbrass of Limehouse, before going back to work in accounts at Nasons of Canterbury for many years. Just before retiring she was doing work for 4 Jays where she we very popular with the ladies packing fruit.
Pat and Phil were able to travel, visiting Australia, Florida, Spain on multiple occasions with Diane and Bill and solo.
Grandchildren came in the late 90's with Shannara, Freya and Willow being born to Jacqueline. They were added to when Kevin's wife Lou gave birth to Twyla in 2021 a fourth grand daughter.
She was a loving Wife, the love of Phil's Life, Mum, Aunt and Grandmother. She was caring, kind and thoughtful putting others and her kids before herself. Many a time she strode into school to admonish a teacher or slight on her kids. Family was everything to her.
She was a very creative person, skilled in knitting, embroidery crochet and many other skills she could turn her hand to. She helped out Phil with the DIY transforming their new home on Sheppey over the years.
Her health started to deteriorate over the last few years, with Phil caring for her. Sadly she passed from cancer on the 29th December 2021 at home.
She didn't like receiving flowers or chocolates, so if you wish to make a donation instead could you use the link to Just Giving to give a donation to the RNLI. Pat spent time as a child with her uncle and Aunt in Hythe, Uncle Mark being a fisherman and RNLI lifeboatman. He selflessly went out many times with the lifeboat helping many souls in trouble. She wanted any flower moneys to be spent on the RNLI instead.
