Melvyn Hewitt (29 Jan 1941 - 27 Dec 2021)

In loving memory of Melvyn John. Hewitt (Mel) , formally of Fore Street , Bradninch , who passed peacefully away on the 27th December 2021 at Camelot care home in Wellington , aged 80 years.

Mel was a much loved husband to Dianne, father to Helene and David , grandad to Henry and brother to Reg.

Mel was Scout Leader and Group Scout Leader for the 1st Bradninch Scout Group and was well know as being the “wooden toy man” , who sold his creations not only in Exeter city centre Guild Hall , but also at many of the popular country shows and Christmas markets held both near and far.

Mel’s funeral is due to take place at Taunton crematorium on Friday 21 January 2022 at 2pm. Anyone who knew Mel or his family are very welcome to come and celebrate his life . The family request no black and family flowers only. Any donations kindly donated will be given to Camelot Care Homes activities fund. Mel”s days were brighter as a result of him being able to continue to be creative during his stay at Camelot, this was only possible owing to the dedication and care of the staff. The family wish to express their thanks to all those who looked after Mel and kept him entertained.
Wake will take place at Oak Manor Golf Club.
