Funeral Director
Eamonn Ennis, 60, passed away peacefully at Prospect Hospice on Wednesday the 29th of December 2021.
Eamonn was born and raised in Swindon to Edward and Maureen Ennis. He attended school at both Holy Family and St Joseph’s Catholic School, before going onto North Star College where he completed his apprenticeship as an Electrician. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for many years, but more recently working as an NHS patient/transport driver at Great Western Hospital.
Eamonn was an ardent Swindon Town supporter and would spend many Saturdays’ cheering on his local team. Another interest of his was golf, which saw him travel around the UK as both a player and spectator.
Eamonn was a devoted Husband, Dad, Brother, Father-in-Law, Brother-in-Law, Son in Law, Uncle, Grandad and Friend.
Anyone that knew him will remember Eamonn as a kind-hearted, loving and loyal man who always displayed calmness and compassion in everything he did. Eamonn found contentment in the happiness of others and by always being impartial, allowed us the freedom to be what we wanted to be. His incredible warmth and fantastic sense of humour had everyone wanting to be in his company. He will be missed so dearly by family and friends alike and will always remain in our hearts.
Eamonn received support from the Prospect Hospice who provided both him and his family with the upmost care and compassion. It was Eamonn's and the families wish that instead of flowers, to please provide donations to the Prospect Hospice using the just giving link attached to this page, in memory of Eamonn.
For those wanting to attend Eamonn's funeral, please could we ask that you notify us by confirming your attendance below by Wednesday the 12th of January 2022. Eamonn expressed, that people wear what they wish to the funeral; so please feel free to be comfortable in either formal or informal attire. We would welcome those that have a waistcoat to wear one on the day, as this was a staple item in Eamonn's wardrobe and it would be a fitting tribute.
There will be a live link available on the day for those who are unable to attend in person and for 28 days following the funeral. Please leave a message or contact Amanda Ennis if you are unable to attend but would like to access this, and we will ensure you receive the information.
Following the funeral at North Wiltshire Crematorium, there will be a celebration of life at Bassett Down Golf Club, Hay Lane, Swindon SN4 9QW. We request that you please inform us by the 12th of January to enable us to notify the venue for catering and hospitality purposes.
