In loving memory of Cynthia Elaine Grenville Smith who sadly passed away on 21st November 2021

Cynthia was a loving family member, loyal friend to many, wonderful actress on TV, Film & Stage, director and teacher.

I have spoken with many people personally but I want to make sure that everyone knows the sad news that Cyndy passed away on 21st November. She was 90 years old and died of an infection. She was still full of beans but physically very fragile. Her dementia had barely advanced at all so her unique personality was still there. In her last week, even when she couldn't speak, she made me laugh! What a brave and talented woman she was, a beloved family member in two families, a friend, an actress (actor), director and teacher.

Thank you to Julia Jules and others from ALRA who have sent such sweet messages of love for Cyndy, on Facebook. She remembered, loved, respected and admired you all - as individuals - very much. Your messages are a great comfort to me.

Thank you to everyone else who has so kindly sent their love, prayers and condolences. You have no idea how much your words mean to me.

The funeral is on 23 December at St Andrew's Church, St Andrews Road, Surbiton at 11.00 am, 2 doors down from our address which is KT6 4AE. It will be streamed. The link is shown here in this Memorial Page

Cynthia was a wonderful friend to me when I was just starting out and we both lived in Wimbledon. I also took my parents, when they were alive, to meet her as I was very proud to have her as a friend. I read she had died in the Equity Journal, and I’m so sorry for your loss. Her smile and unique voice could light up a room. Rest in Peace dear Beautiful Cynthia.

Cyndy was possibly the most mischievous 80++ year old that I have known. She had a great sense of humour, loved life and was a great friend. She will be sadly missed.
