Very sorry to hear the sad news about Ken although he was always Mr Schofield to me. As kids growing up on The Crescent we were a bit in awe of him - especially when we broke the kitchen window playing cricket on the drive.
The Schofields moved in roughly the same time as us in 1954. Very fond memories of us kids playing together.
I remember Mr Schofield’s leather coats and his Ford Consul (with 100mph speedo).
When I started looking after my mum and dad Mr Schofield would always ask after them. Later he told me how concerned he was for Mrs Schofield. He was distraught when she died and never seemed to recover from the shock.
My condolences to Chris, Stew and Andy.

I have lots of memories I will hold dear about you grandad. You taught me how to paint with watercolours, we often shared a crossword, your love of garlic bread (and grandmas hatred of it haha) and the times you went swimming in the sea in Wales. I can still see you strimming the cottage in the heat with no shirt on and bits sticking to your skin. You and gran were a team and I hope you are now reunited you were never settled without her. Love you always
