Gil was liked and respected by lawyers generally be they solicitors or barristers, but particulary those who practised criminal law,a field in which Gil was an acknowledged expert. He together with BA headed up the pre-eminent criminal department in a leading Southampton practice and earned a reputation as a man who put the interests of the client first and foremost. He was exceptionally able and those he helped regarded him as a friend who would advise them honestly.
I leaned a lot from him and valued his opinion always.Above all he was a decent human being- a person of integrity and I feel a sense of injustice that his life should have been cut short.Justice was what Gil's life was all about as was mine when we worked together. He will be sorely missed.

Gil. My first adult football manager. Taught me a lot and always helped me. Respected you for the gentleman you were. We shared laughter and beers over the years. Time to rest pal. Never forgotten. Love to Bridget and the girls x
