Hey Dad what can I say, you are a wonderful man, you have taught me the value of life, to believe in yourself and to follow your dreams, to share, to care and look after your family, to be honest, and to be true to yourself, only then can you feel at peace, not to be greedy, or selfish or too hold grudges but to be willing to open our hearts to accept everyone, YES DAD - you taught me the value of family and the importance of acceptance, and for that I am so grateful --- you are a truly amazing Father and Grandad, to my Hayleigh and Jay and to all your grandchildren- who love you with all their hearts and I know that you will continue to guide us, protect us and support us, you will send us your signs to let us know you are there, Remember our day together DAD, quite recently, we were only supposed to be going to the shop, WHAT happened DAD, well we had an amazing day, We went to Hyde Park, we followed the Serpentine round, we stopped we had coffee and cake, and you managed a bit of lemon drizzle .. yum! we then continued to Princess Diana's memorial park, one of your favourite places to be, and you asked me to help you out of your chair to sit on the grass, watch the children play , and we chatted for ages, by the way - thanks for the ice cream, we both enjoyed , To me dad, this is a memory that will live with me forever, it was a great father-daughter moment, and I love you dad with all of my heart and I wish you didn't have to go, but I understand... Heaven needed an incredible man and that happened to be you! PS I hope they greeted you with your Ice Lolly, from your lips ' Just like HEAVEN! ' From you loving, daughter, Stephanie xxxxxxxxxxxx

My grandad was THE man. A loving and caring man who would tend to your needs whenever he could. A man at one with nature and a family man with love to share. He believed in the university of life and through this became a wise teacher - I have learnt more useful knowledge and skills from my grandad than what a school could ever teach. A thank you is too small to show my appreciation to my grandad. Our last show was Les Miserables and that will be one of my fondest memories and places, as the west end, shows and musicals were so special to us. My grandad Jim has left me with so many memories that are so special and precious, that to speak of them all will take forever :). I feel so lucky that God had given him to us and to me as my grandad, as that is one of the most precious bonds between grandfather and granddaughter (from my experience). I will always think of you and always love you, and whenever I see a robin I will know you are safe and OK wherever you are. Although we can talk of past memories, no matter what I go on to do and be I know you will be right next to me, so we still have the future to make more memories. I will do everything to make you proud and I hope you are looking down on all of us. I know the saying a girls first love is her dad and that her daddy will always be king but for me my grandad will always be king. Love you with all my heart. Hayleigh xxxx

What can I say that hasn't already been sent? Uncle Jim never had a bad word for anyone and always put everyone else first second and third. I'll remember the summer holidays as a nipper and being given £1 note pocket money, the Sherpa van and a say trip to Blackpool, so many cherished memories.

Sleep tight great man.

It was with great sadness that I learned Jim was ill and then as time passed of his increasing frailty. Jim bore his illness with great fortitude helped in no small measure by you Maggie, and all your family. Now his suffering has ended and he is released to be with you all only in spirit.
