He didnt always show his appreciation having to have a carer come in but it was just frustration on his part and his sense of humour to a certain extent too. So sad on the loss of a very special friend. We first came together through Amateur Radio some 65 years ago. By complete coincidence I moved to Enfield in 1956 and ended up about a1/4 of a mile apart. We enjoyed many trips to radio events around the country in the early days and continued to stay in touch thereafter. My wife and I went to his wedding to Doreen, who he greatly missed.
Don was also a very skilled engineer whose other interest was steam radio and he built some beautiful scale locomotives.
He will be remembered by very many radio friends and sadly missed.
