Vincent Thomas Edwards (1 Apr 1924 - 7 Nov 2021)
Funeral Director
In loving memory of Vincent Thomas Edwards who sadly passed away on 7th November 2021.
Vincent was married for 72 years to Margaret. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who loved children. Born in a small Welsh-speaking community, he didn't learn English until he went to school. Reciting Biblical verses in chapel and competing in eisteddfodau taught him to perform from a very young age and he became a a teacher and storyteller who spellbound his pupils with thrilling stories that inevitably ended in cliff hangers . He was a talented sportsman who trained scrawny army recruits during the war as a Physical Education instructor.
Vincent loved the natural world and the outdoors, was fascinated by geography and cherished his memories of holidays abroad with his wife, particularly of travelling in the Greek islands. In retirement he made new friends playing golf and enjoyed the freedom occasioned by his electric scooter. He took great pleasure in his children and their children and, latterly, in his great grandchildren.
After a bad fall his health failed and he passed away peacefully in his sleep.
