Derek is much loved and will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Day by day I feel worse I lost you but I’m hoping I’lll see you soon happy new year to the best and only grandad in the whole world I just wish you could have been here to meet your great grandson Layton he would have idolised you and he would of love to meet you and I just wish you was still here cos the pain I go through make me feel worse and worse knowing your not here when I use to come from school every Wednesday and you pick me up and I hope you was gonna be out of hospital by Christmas and I hope and prayed every night just to come out and give you a hug but the day I heard the news my heart saink knowing your not around makes my life a misery honestly but I try to stay strong each day but I really can’t I just hate the fact your not here I just want you at home I just want you here the pain kills me so much !!
