Brenda Barber the beloved Wife to Anthony, devoted Mum to Christopher and adoring Grandma to Caitlin and Oliver sadly passed away peacefully at home on 29th October 2021.

Brenda was a dedicated teacher, specialising in physical education, who spent her life empowering senior school children. She passionately believed in team sport and led many to achieve their best performance. Her particular passion for hockey, tennis, athletics and swimming along with F1, in later years, was second to none.

Her deep Christian faith allowed her to give so much love and care towards others.

Brenda was involved with so many groups and organisations, outside of teaching and church, and was always willing to tirelessly step in and ‘lend a hand’. She chaired, led or participated in many committees and events with great success and acclaim throughout her life.

She will be sadly missed by all of us.

Please wear something bright and colourful in memory of Brenda.

Family flowers only please.

You must have been very proud of Brenda,Anthony reading all the wonderful tributes paid to her.We always knew she loved sport from an early age but we didn’t know she was very involved with so many other organisations. It is obvious she was loved and respected by so many people. That must be a great comfort to you,Chris and family at this very sad time.We were sorry we were unable to be with you.

Brenda was always very active both at church and the community centre. She threw herself into everything she was part of and always with a smile. She will be sorely missed.

My condolences to the family, I am so sorry for your loss. Brenda was a wonderful person and I was privileged to have known through our shared commitment to improving public and patient experiences of the services at Wollaton Park Medical Centre.

Brenda was the vice chair of the PPG and an extremely invaluable member of the group. Brenda was instrumental in shaping the PPG in those early days when it was established and its achievements and success to date are credited to her commitment and passion to improving services for patients. Brenda will be sorely missed.

I will personally miss the support, guidance and wise counsel she offered me over the years, often over a cup of tea and cake.
