Nan,

You are the most strongest and spirited woman I have ever known. A popular lady who bought the smiles out in everyone..even Dad!

To know you are now resting in peace makes me glad you are no longer in pain. I hope you are watching down on us and are very proud of how strong the Ames family are!

I will never forget your stories, especially the ones with Dad as a kid they were always the best. I can still hear you jokingly telling us to 'sod off' when you had enough of us and hearing you say you love us.Even when you were in the hospice you'd still be the one joking around and making us smile.

I love and will miss you so much.

My lovley friend we have spent so many happy times which I will remember always . The afternoons in your lovley garden . The afternoons discussing all our favourite old movies making Ruth laugh . We've laughed and we've cried and when I lost my poor mum you kept me going and sent me so many cards and notes to let me I still had someone out there looking out for me . And the phone messages to let me know Doris day was on that day and make sure I don't miss it ! I will miss u terribly and treasure the last card you wrote to me saying to my lovley girl love your mum beryl x
Truly beautiful lady x

Dear my beautiful nanny

I still can't believe how quickly this all happened, I keep thinking I'll be round Saturday lunchtime for a cheese and ham roll!

You looked so peaceful when you went to sleep so I am glad you are no longer in pain and finally at rest. I am glad we got to do your hair with the rollers the evening before so you looked beautiful and smelt like Elizabeth Arden on that Sunday. Ruth, Gill, Jess, Laura, Helen and I were there to hold your hand until the end so you were not alone, you had your own room with a private patio and the sun was shining all that day. Hopefully you have found Grandad again and are having fun together up there and watching over us.

Will never forget the times when I broke your shower and you had to go 3 days without it or when I showed you how to use the DVD player and we sat there laughing at that Fireman comedy, however even after leaving you with instructions you still didn't know how to turn the DVD off and waited with it buzzing black and white until someone came round and turned it off! Everytime I have malteasers (brown sweets) I will always think of you, the last time I saw you you moaned about me not going to the pound shop to buy them :).

Anyway, as you can see we are all being 'butch' just like you and being strong for each other.
I hope to see you again one day, will miss you sooooooo much!!

I love you forever and always.
Hannah (your favourite ;) ha ha )
