In loving memory of Phyllis Packer who sadly passed away on 14th October 2021
"In her younger days Phyllis trained as a British Red Cross Nurse and attended many public events, hoping that no-one would fall of their horse or motor-bike. She even won a Hampshire Red Cross ankle competition! In later years, in her 80's and 90's, she went from door-to-door in Colehill in Red Cross Week and always collected the most ."
Phyllis was born in Waltham Chase, Hampshire. Idyllic countryside but offering only limited opportunities. With determination she became a proficient Personal Assistant to Directors in the Admiralty, Bath, and later to budding “captains of industry”. She married an RAF officer and had one son. In mid-life she qualified in social work at Middlesex University, and supported children and families in Dorset, specialising in adoptions. She was a cultured, talented and beautiful lady who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
