Mabel Alma Rowlston (27 Jul 1935 - 28 Sep 2021)

In loving memory of Mabel 'Alma' Rowlston who sadly passed away on 28th September 2021.

Alma was born in Netherfield, Nottingham and was the second child of Bernard and Irene Griffin. Alma had five siblings, Brenda, Margaret, twins Rita and Robert and Peggy. She met Arthur in her early teens and they married in October 1957 when Alma was 21. The couple had one daughter, Carolyn. Arthur had to sell the family car to be able to financially support this decision, hence her initials CAR I believe it was generally thought of as a good 'swap'!!!!

Alma was a very thoughtful person who gave good, practical advice to others; however she was quite indecisive and cautious with regard to her own life choices that at times she found quite difficult. Alma always tried her best to help others and will be remembered fondly by many.

Above all, Alma believed in traditional family values and was very grateful for their support, especially in her later years when she developed some life altering medical conditions including type 1 diabetes and macular degeneration.
