In loving memory of Elizabeth Devine who sadly passed away on 23rd September 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth “Betty” Devine.

Betty lived life on her own terms, a fierce woman with a heart of gold.
She had a wicked sense of humor and found something funny in every situation...particularly in moments where you would not expect a giggle, this was just her way.

Born in Glasgow in 1940.
She will be sadly missed by so many people...

Over the years she was part of many groups and organizations, including her dedication to the Catholic Church, which spanned her whole lifetime.

One of the things in life she was most proud of was her contribution to the 45 foster children she helped raise with her husband, James “Jimmy” Devine.

Also, Godmother to at least six children...maybe more we all lost count!

Betty lived in Easterhouse for nearly 30 years before moving to Craigend with her husband and daughter Louise in 1995...During her time in Easterhouse, she was a very active member of
St John Ogilvie's Parish Church then in her later years St Dominic's Parish Church in Craigend.

So many wonderful accomplishments in her lifetime, too many to mention them all…
As a daughter, I couldn't be prouder to call her my MUM...

There will be a small service at;

St Dominics on Friday 22nd October 2021 at 6 pm

before the Celebration of Life Service at

St Dominics on Saturday 23rd October 2021 at 10 am

This will be followed by a service at Daldowie Crematorium at 11 am

We welcome anyone who would like to pay their respects at the above dates and times.

Serenity Prayer:

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change
The Courage to change the things I can
And, the Wisdom to know the difference…

The Family would like to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to the Nurses & Doctors at Lightburn Hospital, who treated my Mum with so much love, respect & dignity during her final months...

Thank you sincerely - Devine/Maguire Family
