In loving memory of Brian Clarke who sadly passed away on 19th September 2021. Brian was the loving father of three children and beloved husband of Pat.
Brian lived in Bramcote Hills for over 50 years, taught Chemistry at the Secondary Modern, Grammar and Comprehensive school. He was a sportsman, football referee, a member of Bestwood Male Voice Choir and a friend to many. Feel free to browse the Photo Gallery to see some of the special moments.
As a devout and active Christian we plan to celebrate Brian’s life at St Mary’s Church Attenborough, his spiritual home, returning Brian to his maker. We are delighted that members of Bestwood Male Voice Choir will join us to add the music that Brian deserves to compensate the vocal efforts of the family that will no doubt falter.
Brian’s love of science led to his love of nature and his support of the Woodland Trust, each tree plays its part in turning the carbon dioxide we produce into oxygen, mending us and leading Brian to conclude and often state that Tree’s Mend Us - Tremendous!
In his own words “He Stood Up and Was Counted!”, in our words “He did his best and that was so much more than we could ever have hoped for. He surrounded us all with love, a rich and fertile soil in which we grew.”
We look forward to welcoming all that can make it to St Marys Church at 2:45pm on Friday 8th October, with the hope that you will join us for a funeral reception of afternoon tea and a full spread of Brian’s favourite cakes immediately afterwards, a short walk away in the Pavillion at Attenborough Cricket Club. The bar will be open and we look forward to sharing an early Autumn sunset as we put Brian to rest. In support of practical arrangements please indicate your ability to join us by clicking on “Attend Funeral” and registering your intentions. We recommend parking at the cricket club prior to walking the 5-10 minutes it takes to get to the Church.
A final word from Brian - “Hallelujah”
