The Lucky Woman-
Birthed 11 and found another, she was a lovely mother
Laughed and cried in equal measure, thought each child a precious treasure
Temper of fire and clout like lightnin', known for kindness but known for fightin'
She didn't care what neighbours thought, shouted loud if gin she'd bought.
As a barmaid she made a living, to all around caring and giving
perching on knees, wearing a hat- she never did get all that fat.
When she laughed, a joyful sound, always willing to buy a round,
Loved to dance, the jive, the twist, but might end up giving some fist!
Along the road someone would say'I saw one of your kids today...'
So six of us would get a hit, to be sure she found the culprit!
Holey yellow socks made her laugh, she really thought her kids quite daft.
She often said, 'I am a lucky bugger, of 12 great kids I am the mother!'
