Funeral Director
On the 28th of August, Rodney Blanch, a beloved Husband, Dad, and Grandad passed away after his battle with mouth, lung, and lymph node cancer. Rodney also had emphysema, asbestosis and had a pacemaker fitted after having a heart attack 25 years ago.
Sadly, Rodney wasn’t well enough to have chemotherapy and instead received radiotherapy on his lungs for four weeks with the hope to shrink the cancer.
However, due to Rodney’s immune system being so weak, he caught a fungal infection in his lungs. Rodney spent the last week of his life in hospital where he peacefully passed away with all his family surrounding him.
As a family, we have decided to just have family flowers at Rodney's funeral and would appreciate donations to our chosen charities from others.
Our two chosen charities are ‘The British Heart Foundation’ and ‘Cancer Research UK’. As you can see from above, these two charities are very close to our hearts.
No matter how small the donation, every penny counts and would be appreciated dearly.
Rodney's funeral is being held at Earlham Crematorium on Friday the 17th of September at 11.45 am. Please wear whatever you feel comfortable in, there is no dress code for the funeral.
