Ann Ivy Tilley (9 Apr 1932 - 14 Aug 2021)

Only just spotted this obituary and albeit late I must say something about Ann. She was a lovely kind soul who used to be very tolerant of me and all of Antony’s friends back the 1970’s. A visit to her home was always a great experience where I always felt welcome. She was a wonderful mother to her son and daughters and was devastated when her son and my close friend Anthony (Till) passed in 1980. Saying that she soldiered on. She did the same when she lost her husband,Ron, and then her grandson, Paul, too. Inside she must have been in a torrent of grief but she still kept on thinking of her family and others too.

I loved to visit her each year and now that she has gone a piece of my life seems to have ended too. A lovely lady, sadly missed indeed.
