Over 50 years of friendship

Raleigh bonfire where it all began, kicking a ball on the church field, cricket in the entry, my teenage alarm clock, slot machines on Boscombe Pier, football for Wollaton, Southampton cup final, playing golf with your dad, you wetting yourself at my 16 on the frozen par 3, me wetting myself at the Bulwell Hall 'nearly' OB, transporting the croc in Bournemouth, stag trip to Aintree, best man at your wedding, one man and his dog charades, a regular 'bit of tea', high tea at Le Manoir, the wine bill at Harts, keeping it together for your dad, 3 Lions at Euro 96, time at Chatsworth, April fool jokes, your Harold body swerve, the runaway motor home, hundreds of business ideas, sure-fire roulette strategies, your 25 years of bravery.

Thanks for the memories Richard - Rest in peace.
Tony x

Richard
Our paths crossed occasionally through family friends and sport, although we followed your life through Helen and Tony and Rebecca and Anna. Tennis through our fathers and Helen and Tony at Raleigh sports ground. My one and only golf experience was Tony, Len, Richard and me, in that order, possibly 29th July 1981, 9 hole pitch and putt to avoid a Royal Wedding. A smiling face at all times or laughing at your own jokes. Playing football for the "sugar bags" always with a smile and scoring goals for fun. Your final joke on Jill and myself was chasing Harry for 3 hours on a cold Wollaton Park when all the dog wanted was to go to the cafe.
You were a valiant and brave man Richard. Condolences to Wendy, Helen, Tony and families
