I knew Steve from Northgate Primary School then a few years later on Vernon Park when a load of lads were playing football. I said to my friend i know him with the blonde hair this was about 1975/76, some of the lads used to have a party on a Saturday night they were fantastic. When one of the lads put that he had just got back from a very good mates Funeral and the name i cried my eyes out, i used to see Steve at the Hospital when i went for my checkup he will be sadly missed by everyone that knew him R.I.P. Sweetheart love Karen Stephens xx

In loving memory of Steve Slater who sadly passed away on 25th July 2021. A very much loved Husband, Dad, Grandad, Brother & In-Law. You have left the biggest hole in our world. Just a great family man and friend in general. For those who knew Steve will know it will not be the same without him around. His smile, his laugh, his personality could brighten even the darkest of rooms.
A service of celebration will take place Friday 27th August, Catfoot Lane, Gedling - 2:30pm. However please be aware, that due to the current Covid situation, numbers of mourners are strictly limited. A visual tribute of the service, will be available to watch on the day. Wife Karen and children Lee & Jade, would like to thank you all for the kind messages, love and support through this heartbreaking time.
