In loving memory of Michael Dennis " Mick " Cripps who sadly passed away on 20th July 2021 at Southend Hospital.
Mick was born on 2nd October 1940 on Canvey Island (under the gooseberry bush) and continued to live here all his life. (not under the gooseberry bush). He married the love of his life Lin on 15th October 1966 at St Nicholas Church, Canvey and they went on to have three children Sean, David & Michelle and his grandchildren Harry, Oliver & Hollie who he thought the world of. A lot of people may have known him from his younger days playing football, badminton and cricket on the island or over the years from his job as a 'Lagger' at the local refineries.
For those who knew Mick and wish to come and pay their respects the funeral will take place on Thursday 19th August 2021 at 3pm at Pitsea/Basildon Crematorium (the cortege will be leaving the house at 2:30pm). Afterwards we will be raising a glass to Mick at Canvey Conservative Club.
Family have requested family flowers only but if your would like to make a donation in Mick's memory you can do so on this page or on the day at the crematorium. Donations will be spilt between two charities that were close to Mick's heart 'Little Havens & J's Hospice'.
The family would all like to thank everyone for their kind words and support.

A big part of my life when I was younger, I have thought of you often over the years with such fondness. A larger than life character who made me laugh and giggle with that cheeky smile and twinkling eyes. RIP Mick - fly high with the angels
