Rest in Peace John. A great Old Anchorian. Jezz and my John were front row team mates and then friends for life. He will be fondly remembered by my family.

A true Gentleman, never seeking the limelight whilst at the same time epitomising everything good about Teamwork, Loyalty, Work Ethic and Rugby. Anchorians are privileged to have had you around so long. RIP

First met Jezz in the 60's as a work colleague and continued through retirement as he arranged regular get togethers. Will be missed. A gentleman.

John was a true gentleman and great Anchorian. My thoughts are with John's family and friends.

Many happy memories of cousin John over the years going back to our childhood.A trip to Kent to visit the family in Linden Road was always a treat, cousins together having a good time. John grew up to become a fine gentleman

I went to Gillingham County Grammar school with John back in the 40's, followed John into the Ordnance Survey and then lost touch with him after we were in the Royal Engineers. He was a good friend as I lived in Sunnymead Ave. and he lived in Linden Rd. Always remember him as being a "gentle giant" and very nice guy. God bless and RIP.

Jezz was a lovely friend for both Margaret and me over many years. He was always reliable and thoughtful and we will both miss him.
His interest in the Anchorians never waned and the effort and time he put in at the clubhouse must have been of enormous benefit. I always found him a great source of information about the club and we never missed a chance to talk about rugby as well as old team mates.
We will miss you Jezz.

In memory of John, a true gentleman and stalwart of the Anchorians. He will be sadly missed. Bob and Di

'Jezz' attended the former Gillingham Grammar School and then played rugby for the Old Anchorians 1st XV, thereafter becoming the Club's archivist. He was the beating heart of The Anchorians Association, devoting countless hours for well over 50 years voluntarily and selflessly ensuring that the Clubhouse was well-maintained and the bar well-stocked.
