I am standing on the seashore. A ship spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the ocean. I stand watching her until she fades on the horizon, and someone at me side says, She is gone. Gone where? Loss of sight is in me, not in her. For just at the moment when someone says, She is gone, there are others who are watching her coming. Other voices take up the glad shout, Here she comes!!!
I love the thought that Uncle Ken, my mum, her sister Olive and her grandson Adam were all there watching and cheering as Auntie Rose arrived.

Thx Alan, What a lovely way of expressing Rose's passing. Are you Shirley's son that went to live in Spain? I am Rosina Handley nee Kimber from Australia. Rose and I stayed in contact for many years and exchanged info on our families. I met her first in 1979 when I first came for a visit England with my father Fred. Shirley was living on Silver Street back then and Rose came to see us there. I came back in 1987, 2008 and 2012 and each time I came over Rose and Ken made me very welcome in their home when I visited them as did your mum Shirley when she was alive. They are all remembered and greatly missed. I take comfort in what you have said. and send my best wishes to all in the UK from all of us down under. God bless you all xo

Thanks to my sister Sue I am glad to see extended family though I never got to know you because I was sent to South africa at the age of nine. I am Vera's son, Gordon (Bowers).
