In loving memory of Terry Michael Dell who sadly passed away on 15th July 2015.

Terry Michael Dell, age 70, of Snettisham, Norfolk, died Wednesday night, 15th July 2015 at his family home. Born 8th September 1944, in Reading, Berkshire, he was the son of the late William and Doris Dell.

Terry originally trained as a Land Surveyor and then went onto work for environmental departments at various County Councils during his long and varied career. Terry was a loving and generous husband and father. When moving here to Snettisham in 1986 we met our first friends who are very close and dear to us. We met many more through The Way Christian Fellowship, the Wash Art Group and Art 21. Terry organised trips out and arranged various exhibitions for the art groups. He enjoyed painting in his spare time and seascapes and boats were his passion. Since retiring he has produced a large body of paintings, some of which have been exhibited in galleries and exhibitions around Norfolk.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Janet Dell; along with seven children; Carmen, Aubrey, Tina, Garth, Trudy, Tyrone and Steven.

Cremation services for Terry Dell will be held at 10.00am on Thursday 30th July 2015 at Mintlynn Crematorium, Lynn Road, Bawsey, King's Lynn, Norfolk, PE32 1HB with pastor Dan Holland officiating.

An early afternoon in celebration of Terry’s life will also be held at The Way Christian Fellowship, Downs Close, Hunstanton, Norfolk PE36 5HU. Arrive from 11.30am – 12.00 midday, where there will be drinks and a buffet and a chance to admire some Terry’s paintings.

All are welcome to join Janet and her family at the morning cremation service at 10.00am in Mintlynn Crematorium at King's Lynn, followed by the celebration at The Way Christian Fellowship in Hunstanton to be held between 11.30am to 2.00pm.

Hello Janet,
Very long time no see. Providence took me to Terry's obituary and very sad to hear of his passing. Happy memories of you both when working at Engineering Surveys... I remember the flat in Portland...

Thanking everyone for your flowers and cards of kind words and memories of Terry will not be forgotten. Thank you again for your kind donations and for giving Terry a good send off. I have placed some of his ashes in with a white rose bush called Tranquility, which has been repotted and bought by his son Steven. The rest of the ashes I have taken down to Brighton, where Steven lives and where Terry always wanted to live. Steven and I scattered Terry's ashes in the sea there. Love, Janet.

As a school boy my Dad would quite often take me on his surveying jobs during my school holidays, and one in particular was a place called Deal in Kent, where I was allowed to go down a working mine which he had to survey. I got to meet some of the men who were working on the coal face using picks and shovels in cramped conditions. It was just an exciting experience that probably no other 14 year old would ever see.
He has done so much for me. Miss you Dad x

Terry had a larger-than-life personality, with a great sense of humour to match. A good friend who is sadly missed. My thoughts are with Janet and the family at this very sad time.

Fond memories on holiday with Janet and Terry when Terry would stop the car and say ( Take a picture Janet ) of a scene he would like to paint. It has become a catchphrase and often when out with our camera we will say ( take a picture Janet ) Rest in peace Terry Bob & Garaine

I will always remember my cousin Terry fondly and have wonderful memories of times we spent together during our younger years. Especially when he visited his Grandmother, Aunt & Uncle in Reading, even turning up once in a Reliant Robin car and also the times when I stayed in Hove with him and his Mother.
My thoughts are with you Janet and family during his sad time.
Mary

Terry, what a guy! He came to work in Scotland as the Parks Department's manager. Many hours of work were spent I the cafe across from HQ with the inevitable coffee and sigarettes. Sadly missed and will never be forgotten. Jan, I wish you and your family strength in the months to come. Thea and Robin x

Entering the door of The Way Fellowship proudly every week with a smile and a steaming hot home-made casserole held with a teatowel and asking us all to have a sniff and tell him what the secret ingredients were, if we were in difficulty then he would offer us cryptic clues !!!
