In loving memory of Margaret Alice Hammond who sadly passed away on 15th June 2021

Margaret was born in Rainworth on 28th October 1933 and stayed in the village until she married Bill in 1956
After a very brief spell living in Mansfield they returned to the village where they set up home on Helmsley Rd and had 3 children David, Bryn and Sarah. Bill sadly passed away in 2008.

Margaret worked for the doctors in the village for many years and was Practice Manager at Rainworth Health Centre before she retired.
Margaret loved being with her family and had numerous hobbies and interests.
Up until the age of 80 she had helped out voluntarily at Lake View School in Rainworth, listening to children read along with other activities and school trips. Margaret was also an active member of Sherwood U3a where she made lots of friends and enjoyed many holidays, days out and social events.

Margaret leaves her three children and six grandchildren.

Please note that due to COVID restrictions attendance to Margaret’s funeral on Tuesday 13th July 2021 will be by invitation only. However the cortege will be leaving the house at 11am if anyone would like to be outside to pay their last respects. I am sure you will appreciate how difficult it is at the moment to accommodate everyone.

I was lucky enough to enjoy a week with Margaret in France a couple of years ago, I can honestly say this was one of the best holidays, and Margaret played her part in making it so memorable, along with Irene, Stan and Jane Preston and of coarse Simba, much love to all
