In loving memory of Mike Bessent who sadly passed away on 11th June 2021.
Mike was diagnosed with a grade 4 giloblastoma at the end of 2020. Despite treatment with chemotherapy and radiotherapy, it wasn't enough to combat the fast-growing tumour. He passed peacefully in his sleep in the early hours.
Mike was cared for at home by his family with support from the local hospice, an amazing home care team and district nurses; all of whom went above and beyond to support his family.
This page has been set up to share photos, memories and raise some much needed funds for charities close to his heart.
I was very moved to see Wendy and Hayley on The Repair Shop. It brought back many happy memories of when Katie and Hayley were born; even memories of Mike fixing our old banger when Rog and I lived in Motspur Park! But, above all, seeing you, Wendy, brought back many happy memories of our time at Bentalls. I send my best wishes to you and the family.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mike a truly great man.i spent many years in surrey police with him.i tutored him at the start of his career.just watched the repair shop was astonished at his past career in speedway such a lodest man never mentioned it. RIP Mike

As others have said, Mike was indeed a very funny man, with a dry sense of humour. He was great fun to work with and always had a tale to tell. He didn't have time for those that didn't pull their weight and didn't suffer fools gladly either. He was fair and was excellent at his job. I will miss his stories and his sense of fun. He always spoke fondly of his and it's plain to see why. Rest in peace Mike.

Many hilarious and caring memories of such a lovely man. I will forever cherish the beautiful memories from our summer drinks and laughs in the back garden. Dancing together at Hollys wedding and our amusing chats at the end of the school day when Mike would come to collect Mrs B.
