In loving memory of Michael Owen Willsher who sadly passed away on 25th May 2021

Michael Willsher 28/03/1943 – 25/05/2021

Michael was a friendly and kind hearted man, who was a much loved husband to vera, son to Gladys and Arthur, dad to Linda, Martin and Siobean, brother to Peter, grandfather to Marilyn, Lisa, Scott and Tania and a great grandfather to Jaden, Callum and Sophie and a much loved friend to so many.
Micheal was born in Chelmsford and grew up in the mill green area, Micheal had fun growing up with his mum dad and brother peter by his side. Michael and peter enjoyed living with their grandma Gully for a period of time. Michael had many jobs working in the royal mail where he started as a telegraph boy and worked his way up to a normal post man and upwards which meant lots of early get ups for both his wife vera and grandchildren when they stayed over. When he left royal mail he moved on to asda where he retired.
Michael met vera and they married on the 24/03/1978 they spent many happy years living a little flat in bells chase great baddow before moving to a bungalow in alexander mews Howe green. Vera and mick enjoyed lots of yearly trips to Blackpool for many years. Michael always came home with a stick of rock.
Michael was a keen bird watcher and loved looking at all sorts of birds in his binoculars and watching them from his conservatory coming in and out of his bird boxes in the garden. Michael also loved the foxes in the meadow behind the bungalow at alexander mews, he was always making sure there was left over food to give them. Michael was a keen gardener and loved his flowers. Micheal had lots of pictures, he loved taking them of the flowers but also of his grand children and great grandchildren. When the grand children were little Michael had a cine camera where his was always capturing memories for the family to enjoy and look back on. Micheal was always proud to share his memories. He then moved on to a video recorder and took it with him wherever he went just to capture the special times they all shared with him.
Michael was a lover of golf and darts which he holds lots of trophies to show. Micheal loved to sit and watch he football always had to make sure he was home in time much to vera’s delight, Michael and vera spent many a night watching the darts together when it was on.
Michael was very much a neighbourhood watch man, he always liked to know what was going on outside, having a nose. Michael loved to document everything in his diary with out fail. Michael was always known for telling his stories about everything in the past and you would here these bout 20 times or more.
A memory the grandchildren will never forget is one Christmas his daughter Linda had laid the table ready for Christmas lunch and Michael was enjoying a game of Ludo with the girls he rolled a 6 and with all the excitement lots his false teeth on to the table well the whole house was filled with laughter and a few screams. This memory will be one that’s shared for many of years to come.
Here is a little message from Michael’s much loved family
‘we can no longer see you with our eyes, or touch you with our hands but we will feel you in in our hearts forever’
