In loving memory of Robert William Moore who sadly passed away, aged 80, on 25th May 2021.
Bob was born in Boyle, Ireland, the eldest of three sons born to Tom and Mary-Jane.
He met his wife of 48 years, Sue, at the top of Blackpool Tower whilst on holiday with friends.
They married in St Michael’s Church in Rossington and began their married life back in Boyle.
Their daughter, Georgina, was born in Galway in 1973.
Bob & Sue moved to Rossington, along with his father, Tom, the following year to help care for Sue’s father who suffered with MS.
Their second daughter, Tammy, was born in Doncaster in 1977.
Bob worked for many years at Binns in Doncaster as a furniture salesman.
Bob spent many years involved with St Michael’s Church, enjoying his role as Churchwarden.
He enjoyed a range of music, especially The Rolling Stones, The Bee Gees and Queen.
Bob absolutely loved watching cycling, in particular the Tour de France. He would spend hours watching the races with great anticipation of the winner of the jersey.
Bob was a devoted Dad to Georgina and Tammy and a great father in law to Sheldon and Jason. However, he was delighted when he became a Grandad to Jacob, Grace and Eva. His family were his world.
Bob suffered the loss of his treasured Sue in December 2020. He had experienced fluctuating health conditions himself but was unable to fight Sepsis and sadly passed away in Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
The loss of Bob has been devastating to his family so soon after the loss of Sue. He was such a kind, gentle and generous man and the world is a much poorer place without him in it.
Due to the regulations around social distancing, we are very limited with the number of people attending the church service, and have had to specifically ask people personally who are attending. However, should people wish to attend Rose Hill cemetery for Dad’s burial, due to this being outdoors, then you would of course be welcome. 2pm, 16th June.
