Bob, where do I start? You were simply THE BEST.

You were always proud to say you never had a bad word with your in-laws well I’m proud to say we were the same. The best father-in-law anyone could ever have. Your sense of humour was brilliant, always light-hearted and non-stop. By the time you finished one joke you were already thinking of the next. Although you did scare me with the dog bite on your neck joke/story.

If I’m honest you taught me all I know about cooking and your roast potatoes were the best. I was lucky enough to meet you after you got Colin and Meesh to try all the round the world delicacies (phew), but think Sam will follow in your footsteps on that one.

There wasn’t much you didn’t know the answer to and I have written down all your advice and cooking prep and times. It’s the β€˜Kate - what you want to do is ….’ moments that will be missed.

Family occasions wont be the same anymore the massive gap just got bigger but you will live on in our hearts, our food, our laughter and our memories and we will carry on retelling your stories which will lift our spirits. Your singing in the kitchen to Frank Sinatra and other stars and doing your cryptic crosswords, jigsaws and sudoku will forever be remembered.

You are now reunited with Eileen your true love. It’s been a long lonely 3 years for you, our hearts broke seeing you like this.

I will miss you Bob always and promise to look after Colin and the family as best I can β€˜As family is what matters’. God Bless, sleep tight and see you again one day. Love you loads. Kate (oh and your namesake guinea pig β€˜Bobby’ and his brother Eric)

Bob, you were the best father in law anyone could ever have, you were more like a Dad to me. If there was anything I was worried about I could always talk to you about. You never sugar-coated anything and would tell it as it was. Loved taking you to the pub pre lockdown for our little chats and putting the world's to rights, over a few pints nothing heavy. Thanks for the constant laughs over the years, far to many to go into detail, and I'm sorry I put a Maggie Thatcher face in your window, I knew how much you despised that woman 🀣 but it was funny to see your reaction. Thanks for being the most amazing Grandad to Sam, and for all the advice you ever gave me which in fairness was a lot, DIY, cookery, I learnt a lot from you Bob. Sorry I used to eat all your choc éclair sweets too. Don't forget "go careful, go easy and go safely" - see you again one day Bob - you were the BEST - Dave x

Grandad, i miss you so much and will never forget you. Your interesting stories and your bright and bubbly way of telling them always put a smile on my face. There was never a day I saw you and didn’t leave without a smile and learning something new. You also made the most amazing chicken wings which i will never forget the taste of. You taught me so many things like, how to peel potatoes, that if i drank a cup of tea on a hot day it would cool me down and so many more amazing and useful things. You will forever be in my heart and I know you are always with me by my side (including nan too). I love you so much and I am so happy you aren’t in pain anymore as well as that you are back with your amazing wife, my nan. Rest easy grandad, love and miss you so muchπŸ’•

Babs…where do I start, there are so many things I could say about you but the main things are going to be the important ones, firstly you taught me a few things that have seen me through my life, and kept me in good stead, as a child you would play games and never let me win you would make sure I earned it myself by learning the ins and outs of how to win. You also taught me how to cook and also how to iron my shirts correctly but most of all you showed me of how to live life and make the best for myself and my family. Everyone that I know that also knew you have always had something nice to say about you and how interesting you were, your stories about your career on the cruise liners of days gone by and your life in general, dad you were and in my heart still are amazing person and dad. I will miss our evening’s together having our chats and laughs that we had. Dad stay safe and look after yourself and mum and I’ll catch up with you two guys later, love to you my man of men. Colin xx
